Brooks Wilson enters his seventh season on the Navy men’s soccer staff in 2026. After serving as a volunteer assistant coach for each of his first two seasons with the program, Wilson was promoted to a full-time assistant coach prior to the start of the 2022 season.
Over his first six seasons in Annapolis, Wilson has assisted the Midshipmen in three-straight appearances in the Patriot League Tournament from 2021-23, winning the 2022 Patriot League Championship and producing three all-league goalkeepers.
Most recently, Wilson aided a youthful 2025 squad in overcoming adversity to secure Navy’s first victory over service academy rival Air Force in 18 years. Under his mentorship, goalkeeper Robert Eaton was selected as team captain, while Andrew Schug earned College Sports Communicators First-Team Academic All-America honors.
Wilson's track record of developing goalkeepers was highlighted when Pierce Holbrook earned Second-Team All-Patriot League honors before signing a professional contract with the Philadelphia Union II, debuting in MLS Next Pro in June 2025. During that 2024 season, Holbrook led the Patriot League with 75 saves and ranked 15th nationally with 4.69 saves per game.
Wilson was also instrumental during a storybook 2022 season in which the Midshipmen finished 7-5-9 and tallied three straight postseason shutouts to claim the league title before facing Georgetown in the NCAA Tournament. He coached Holbrook to a Patriot League All-Tournament selection after the goalkeeper logged a league-leading eight shutouts and 69 saves, including 10 saves across 290 scoreless minutes in the tournament. The 2022 defensive unit ranked 17th in the nation in save percentage (.793) and 29th in goals against average (0.895).
His influence helped lay a strong foundation during the 2021 season, where Navy earned a 12-6-1 record, tallied 10 shutouts, and allowed just 1.05 goals per game.
Wilson’s work alongside the coaching staff has produced unprecedented individual recognition, including coaching Matt Nocita, who became the first three-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year before the New York Red Bulls selected him seventh overall in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft. He also played a role in developing two-time Patriot League Midfielder of the Year David Jackson, who in 2023 became Navy’s first All-American since 2014, and 2021 Offensive Player of the Year Jacob Williams.
Prior to joining the Navy staff, the Beaufort, S.C., native was the top assistant and goalkeeping coach at Dreher High School in Columbia, S.C., from 2019-20. Wilson also served as the goalkeeper coach for South Carolina United FC from 2018-20.
In addition to his role at Navy, Wilson has also spent the 2025 and 2026 summer seasons as an assistant coach with the Annapolis Blues of USL2.
A 2020 graduate of the University of South Carolina, Wilson holds a B coaching license from the U.S. Soccer Federation.
