Mamadou Diouf

    Volunteer Assistant Coach
Diouf was hired as Navy’s volunteer assistant coach for the men’s soccer program in August 2018.
 
Diouf begins his coaching career with the Midshipmen, following his collegiate and professional playing careers.
 
He comes to Navy following a playing stint in Europe where he played in the Veikkausliiga -- top professional soccer league in Finland -- with FC Ilves in 2015. Then in 2016, he played for Geis FC in Sweden.
 
Prior to his time in Europe, he was drafted in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft by the Vancouver Whitecaps 30th overall. During the 2014 season, Diouf played with the Charlotte Battery in the USL, where he played in 17 matches.
 
Diouf attended UConn and played under Tim O’Donohue -- who was the associate head coach for the Huskies during Diouf’s final three collegiate seasons. During his time at UConn, Diouf was a two-time First Team All-Big East honoree and a Second Team All-AAC selection. As a junior in 2012, he was named a Second Team All-American by NSCAA and College Soccer News.
 
Diouf earned his Bachelor’s degree in economics from UConn in 2013.
