2023-24 // Senior Year
• Selected by his peers to serve as team captain
2022-23 // Junior Year
• Alongside Matt Wang, produced the second-most wins on the team with a 21-12 record ... saw most of his action at the #3 spot (19-12) on the ladder
• Opened the year by winning 12 of his first 13 matches with his lone loss during that timeframe coming against Virginia’s CJ Baldini
• His biggest win of the year came in the form of a four-game victory over #13 Western’s Antonio Mendes (14-12, 13-15, 11-6, 11-5) ... also had a strong win against #22 Bates in five (Jonathan Walker // 15-13, 11-7, 9-11, 15-17, 11-9)
• Lost back-to-back five-game matches against #11 Chatham (Agustin Carranza // 8-11, 12-10, 8-11, 11-7, 11-5) and #16 MIT (Philip Hyun Su Price // 9-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-3)
• Put together a 2-1 mark at the CSA Team Championship, earning wins over Ibrahim Berkhiet of Denison (3-0) and Abhinav Gupta of Wesleyan (3-0)
• Closed out the season by pairing up with team captain Millen Randell to represent Navy at the U.S. Intercollegiate Doubles Championship where the tandem put together a 4-1 record, dropping a 3-0 decision to Dylan Deverill and Griffin Manley of Western Ontario in the finals
2021-22 // Sophomore Year
• Recorded a 15-8 mark in his first full season at the Academy where he saw action at #3 (1-0), #4 (5-6) and #5 (9-2)
• Opened the year by winning his first five matches, including an 11-2, 11-5, 11-3 win over Chicago’s Jingyu Cai for his first collegiate victory
• Won the opening game against Franklin & Marshall’s Allen Tompkins before Tompkins dropped out due to injury ... Navy went on to win the match 5-4 in an upset on Senior Day
• Swept Osuman Imoro in three games to lead Navy past #24 Dickinson 6-3 at the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championship
• Won his final four matches of the season, including posting a 3-0 mark at the CSA Team Championship - 3-2 vs. Raghav Pemmireddy, Brown; 3-2 vs. Abhimanyu Gupta, Amherst; 3-1 vs. Vivaan Jaikishan, Tufts
• Locked up at four wins apiece, the Amherst match would come down to the outcome of Sparkman’s match against Gupta ... he jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the fifth game and went on to cruise to an 11-7 win to clinch the team victory
2020-21 // Freshman Year
• Appeared in both matches against Virginia, dropping matches at the #6 position to William Braff (11-5, 11-8, 11-4), in what marked his first collegiate bout, and Andrew Braff (13-11, 11-6, 12-10)
High School
• 2020 graduate of Darien High School in Darien, Conn.
• Two-sport standout who competed in golf and squash
• Served as the team captain for the golf and squash programs his senior year
• Member of Darien golf teams that finished as the state runner-up three times
• Member of the Darien squash team that won the 2017 FairWest Championship
• Recipient of the 2019-20 FairWest Public School Squash Association (FWPSSA) Bonnie Bancroft Leadership Award presented to a senior player who played for four years, displaying exemplary leadership and sportsmanship and has distinguished themselves in the FairWest League
• With 25 teams and 226 players in the boys division, the FairWest Bonnie Bancroft Leadership Award is the highest honor the FWPSSA can bestow on a player.
• US Squash scholar-athlete
• 2018 and ‘19 All-Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC) golf selection, who earned All-State (Conn.) honors as a senior
• Tied for seventh at the 2019 FCIAC Golf Championship and tied for ninth at the 2019 D1 State Championship
• Member of the Latin Honor Society

• Son of Palmer and Julia Sparkman
• Majoring in Political Science
• Named to the Commandant’s (F2020, S2021, S2022, S2023) List multiple times
• Hails from a family with a sailing legacy, his grandfather, Palmer Sparkman Sr., competed in the America’s Cup and also taught sailing at the Naval Academy
