2022, ‘23, ‘24 Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference All-Academic Team

2023-24 // Junior Year

• Closed out his junior year with a 12-18 record, seeing the bulk of his time at #3 (9-18)
• Opened the year by winning 5 of his first 6 matches, including a 3-0 decision over Fordham’s Henry Frawley
• Put together a 2-1 record at the CSA Team Championship where he won back-to-back matches against Denison’s Charlie Fenwick and St. Lawrence’s Harrison Callaway before dropping a 3-1 decision to Hobart’s Omar Kiwan in the Summers Cup championship match
• Paired up with Alexander Orr to play in the U.S. Intercollegiate Doubles Championship where they were tripped up by the Middlebury tandem of Julian Sandoval and Will Lichstein in 5 games (11-2, 12-10, 6-11, 6-11, 11-9)
• Along with teammates Matthew Kang, Alexander Orr and Matt Wang, Spiro was named to the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference All-Academic Team

2022-23 // Sophomore Year
• Moved up to #4 on the ladder where he played 31 of his 33 matches on the year, posting an 18-15 record overall
• Opened the year by winning 11 of his first 12 matches, sweeping each of those 11 opponents in three games
• Went 3 for 3 against his opponents at the College Squash Association Team Championship, defeating Denison’s Lucas Piller (3-0), while also earning back-to-back hard-fought five-game wins over Dickinson’s Kobe Fleming (11-9, 13-15, 11-4, 14-16, 11-9) and Wesleyan’s Toby Goldston (11-9, 9-11, 11-9, 8-11, 11-5)
• Closed out the season by pairing up with Alexander Orr to represent Navy at the U.S. Intercollegiate Doubles Championship where the duo put together a 3-1 record, dropping a 3-1 decision to eventual National Champions Dylan Deverill and Griffin Manley of Western Ontario in the semis
• One of 4 Navy players to be named to the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference All-Academic Team

2021-22 // Freshman Year
• Turned in a 15-12 record in his first season at the Academy, seeing action at #5 (6-3) and #6 (9-9)
• Opened the year by winning nine of his first 10 matches, including an 11-3, 11-3, 11-5 win over Chicago’s Craigin Maloney for his first collegiate victory
• Went 2-1 at the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championship, earning an opening-round win over Franklin & Marshall’s Allen Tompkins in three games, while also sweeping Dickinson’s Aidan Ray
• Posted a 2-1 record at the College Squash Association Team Championship, defeating Brown’s Liam Bai in four games and Amherst’s Nathaniel Mosse in five games
• Locked up at four wins apiece, the Amherst match would come down to the outcome of Sparkman’s match against Gupta ... he jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the fifth game and went on to cruise to an 11-7 win to clinch the team victory
• Capped off the year by being named to the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference All-Academic Team

• Selected as a Trident Scholar with his area of study being Analyzing CN Coma Morphology to Develop Correlations Between Cometary Age and Dynamical Classification
• Stands #31 in Overall Order of Merit among the Class of 2025 (1,074 students) ... ranked #44 in Academic Order of Merit and #131 in Military Order of Merit
• Named to the Superintendent’s (F2021, S2022, S2024) and Commandant’s (F2021, S2022, S2023, F2023, S2024) Lists multiple times, while also earning Dean’s (S2023, F2023) List mention
