Naval Academy Athletics

2024-25 // Freshman Year
• Produced a 16-10 record in his freshman season where he played 5 different spots on the ladder - #5 (1-0), #6 (2-1), #7 (2-0), #8 (8-4) and #9 (3-5)
• Earned his first-career victory by way of an 11-5, 11-5, 11-3 win over Denison’s Rayan Dar in what also marked his collegiate debut
• Completed a comeback victory over Bowdoin’s Joseph French (12-14, 11-7, 8-11, 11-8, 12-10) to help lead Navy to a 5-4 team victory
• Was 1-2 in his inaugural appearance at the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championship, sweeping Franklin & Marshall’s Evann Tan and helping lead the Mids to a 5-4 record over the Diplomats
• Closed out the season by pairing up with classmate Wenqing Tang to represent Navy at the U.S. Intercollegiate Doubles Championship where the duo put together a 2-2 record

• 2024 graduate of Conestoga High School in Berwyn, Pa.
• Four-year squash letter winner who served as team captain his senior year
• Four-time (Fr / So / Jr / Sr) US Squash Scholar-Athlete Award recipient
• Selected to the Mid-Atlantic Squash Association Team his junior and senior years
• Presented the US Squash Sportsmanship Award his senior year
• Went undefeated in the regular season and at high school nationals (13-0) his sophomore year
• Conestoga HS finished eighth in the country at high school nationals and #1 in public school rankings his junior year
• Recipient of the AP Scholar with Dinstinction Award
• High school teammate of Yale’s Rishi Srivastava

• Son of Michael Sr. and Margaret Tierney
• Majoring in Political Science, he owns a 3.23 grade-point average
• Named to the Commandant’s (F2024, S2025) List multiple times
