Biography

2023-24 // Sophomore Year
• Finished his first full season of action with a 16-13 record ... saw the bulk of his time at #6 where he posted an 11-12 mark
• Opened the year with a 3-0 loss to #7 Virginia’s CJ Baldini, but bounced back to win 5 in a row, including a 3-0 win over Fordham’s Robert Cruikshank to kick off the run
• Put together a 3-0 mark at the CSA Team Championship, defeating Denison’s Chase Lanfest (3-0), St. Lawrence’s Patrick Walford (3-2) and Hobart’s Roberto Vega (3-0) ... rallied from 2 games down to top Walford in 5 (6-11, 6-11, 11-2, 11-5, 11-8)
• Earned a huge win in Navy’s 5-4 victory over St. Lawrence during the regular season ... Mullarkey scored a 3-2 win over Vladimir Iglesias at the #5 spot, 11-9, 10-12, 6-11, 11-9, 11-9
• Paired up with team captain Henry Sparkman to play in the U.S. Intercollegiate Doubles Championship where they opened with a win over the Middlebury pair of Theo Kogan and Gabe Thin (3-0) before dropping a 3-1 decision to Yale’s Maxwell Orr and Nikhil Ismail

2022-23 // Freshman Year
• Played in Navy’s first 13 matches of the season before having lung surgery (congenital lobar emphysema in the middle and lower lobe of his right lung)
• Due to the nature of the surgery and the rehabilitation process, he was forced to withdraw from school and in turn, began the Naval Academy process from scratch, returning in the summer of 2023 for Plebe Summer
• Recorded a 12-1 record between Nov. 4-19, playing the bulk of his matches (9) at the #7 position on the ladder 
• In his collegiate debut, he shut out North Carolina’s Adam Lee (11-0, 11-0, 11-0) for his first-career victory
• His first and only loss was against Virginia’s Charles Braff (11-2, 11-7, 11-8)
• Entered the 2023-24 season (sophomore eligibility), riding an 8-match winning streak with his last match played on Nov. 19 against Wesleyan’s Jack Lungstrum

High School 
• 2022 graduate of Locust Valley High School in Locust Valley, N.Y.
• Member of the National Honor Society, as well as the National Spanish Honor Society in which he served as president at his high school
• Recipient of the Sgt. Robert Hendriks Memorial Scholarship

Personal
• Son of Roger and Lisa Mullarkey
• Majoring in English, he owns a 3.30 grade-point average
• Named to the Commandant’s (F2023, S2024) List multiple times, while also earning Dean’s (S2023) List mention
• Sister, Eva, is a graduate of Wellesley where she was a member of the squash team from 2016-18
