- Served as the team captain of cross country and track and field team as a senior
- State qualifier in the 1600m as a senior and earned all-section honors
- Earned first-team all-conference honors in cross country and was a state qualifier in 2010
- Class Valedictorian and a member of the National Honor Society
- Son of Victor and Virginia Genco
- Father (Victor) is a member of the Naval Academy's Class of 1983 and maternal grandfather, Leonard Yurkovic, is a member of the Class of 1961
