Jack Finch is in his fourth season as an assistant coach for Navy water polo, joining the program in March 2023 under head coach Luis Nicolao.
A 2015 graduate of the Naval Academy, Finch was a four-year letterwinner and attacker for the Midshipmen from 2011-14, playing in 97 games and finishing his career ninth on Navy's all-time assists list with 91. As a junior, he posted 45 assists in a single season, the sixth-best mark in program history at the time, and helped lead Navy to an 85-40 record over his four years.
After commissioning, Finch served as a Naval Intelligence Officer at the Office of Naval Intelligence.
Finch stayed connected to the sport throughout his Navy career, coaching the Navy Aquatics Water Polo Club from 2015-16 and again in 2018 while working in Washington, D.C. Following his active-duty service, he spent three years in management consulting – with Booz Allen Hamilton (2020-21) and Deloitte Consulting (2021-23) – before returning to the Naval Academy to coach full-time.
Since Finch joined the staff, Navy has reached the MAWPC Championship game twice and finished the 2025 season ranked nationally, with the program setting numerous single-game and career scoring records along the way.
A California native, Finch resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
