Biography
Schalk was born in the California Bay Area, but spent his childhood growing up in Oregon where he learned to sail on the Oregon Coast. In 2011, Adrian moved to Singapore where he spent the next 7 years attending public school in Singapore. After graduating with an International Baccalaurette Diploma in 2016, he attended Fudan University in Shanghai, China for a semester in Chinese language. Currently, Adrian is a student at the US Naval Academy as a member of the class of 2022. He is a part of the Navy Offshore Sailing team. Most recently he was a crew member on Zaraffa where he competed at the Marblehead to Halifax race (1st ORR), Around Long Island Regatta (2nd ORR) and NYYC 175th Anniversary Regatta. He is specializing as mainsheet trimmer and driver on the team.Â
