Biography

Eckert grew up just north of Los Angeles in Valencia, Calif. Prior to arriving at the Academy, Brett had no sailing experience. Since then, Brett has competed on a Colgate 26 as a spinnaker and job trimmer, TP52 as a grinder, Navy 44 as a mastman and assistant bowman, and the Ker 50 Wahoo as main trimmer. He has competed in many events during his time on the team including two NYYC race weeks, two Around Long Island Regattas, and a Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race.
