At Navy: While on VOST, he served as the bowman on the J/122 Dolphin, Farr 40 Ranger, and MKI and MKII Navy 44s ... he served as XO on Dolphin for his 2/C summer, then was named skipper of Dolphin for his 1/C summer ... also served as skipper of the Farr 40 Ranger in Block Island Race Week ... competed in many events including Annapolis to Newport, NYYC Annual Regatta, Block Island Race Week, NYYC Race Week, Martha's Vineyard Big Boat Race, Around Martha's Vineyard, Around Long Island Race, US Offshore Championship, McMillan Cup, Kennedy Cup, and LA Harbor Cup.
