At Navy: While on VOST, he sailed primarily on Colgate 26's --as a crew and later as a skipper --and Navy 44's ... he raced twice in the Marblehead to Halifax, Around Martha's Vineyard Regatta and the Around Long Island Regatta ... also competed as the navigator in the Annapolis to Bermuda regatta and the Southern Bay Race Week.
High School / Personal: He grew up in Columbia, South Carolina playing soccer in middle and high school ... After high school his family moved up to Roanoke while he stayed in S.C. and attended Presbyterian College for one year.
