Biography
Oney served as a Spin Trimmer aboard the Zafarra as a sophomore, participating in the Martha's Vineyard and Around Long Island Race while also trimming jib and spin on the J/105's and 44's. Sailed aboard the Colgate as a freshman. Prior to Navy, Oney swam competitively for 10 years, ran track and cross country for six years. Prior to Navy, Oney participated in several sailing events including sailing aboard the Capri Catelina 26, the Flying Scot at the Chesapeake Summer Solstice Race and the Pennsylvania Governors Cup in 2017, 2018, 2019 and Atlantic Costal Championship in 2018 and 2019.
