Tibbetts was a four-year high school wrestler and two time state medalist before coming to Navy ... his first sailing experience was during plebe summer aboard a Colgate 26 ... he advanced to sail aboard a TP52 for his first summer and a J105 in the fall ... during his senior summer he served as XO aboard the Ker 50 Wahoo ... son of James and Cynthia Tibbetts ... majoring in political science.
