Mac Campbell

Campbell joined the staff as interim director of operations in December 2022 and was elevated to the role of Director of Player Development in August of 2023. Campbell was promoted to assistant coach in May of 2025 after helping the Mids to the program’s first postseason berth since 2018 and an 18-win improvement from 2022-23 to 2024-25. He begins his fourth year with the program in 2025-26.

Focusing on defense and post play during the 2023-24 season, Navy players blocked 3.6 shots per game and grabbed 36.7 rebounds per contest. That block average ranked 106th nationally, while the rebounding pace was second-best in the Patriot League, 164th in the nation. Navy improved over 240 positions in both its turnovers forced per game (17.16) and steals per game (8.6) averages from 2022-23 to 2023-24.

During the 2024-25 season, Campbell guided the posts through a injury-ravaged campaign that saw three of the team’s true post players miss significant portions of the season. Campbell’s work with Lizzie Holder and Morgan Demos helped the pair step up at various points throughout the year and turn in career-best performances, including a 13-point, four-assist outing for Holder at Boston University on Jan. 22 and a 20-point effort by Demos on Feb. 1 when facing Patriot League Player of the Year Ashley Solfilkanich. Taking over as the program’s only post for the final month-plus of the season, Demos was the Mids’ third-leading scorer in Patriot League play with 7.7 points and grabbed the second-most rebounds at 5.8 per contest. Due the those depth issues, Campbell dealt with getting guards Maren Louridas and Toni Papahronis up to speed on post play as the duo took on added responsibilities in the front court down the stretch.

He graduated Virginia Tech with the Class of 2013.
