Anne McClure

Anne McClure joined the Navy women's golf program as an assistant coach in December of 2019.

After joining the staff prior to the spring season, McClure helped Navy to a 21st-place finish at the Kiawah Island Classic. The event was the largest collegiate golf tournament in the country with a field of 53 teams and 263 competitors. At the Kiawah Island Classic, Navy finished with a 38-over par 902 with Christine McDonnell leading the team with a 3-over par 219 en route to finishing tied for 19th overall in the field.

McClure comes to Navy after serving as the head PGA (Professional Golfers Association) professional at The Founders Club in Sarasota, Fla., since 2017. As the head professional at the course, she was responsible for all golf operations, which included tournaments, capital projects, member relations and implementing instructional programs.
 
Prior to her time in Florida, McClure worked at numerous golf venues in Maine. From 2009-17, she was the head professional and a teaching professional at The Woodlands Club in Falmouth, Maine, where she was named the 2013 Maine PGA Teacher of the Year. McClure was also recognized by Golf Digest as one of the Top-Five Teachers in the State of Maine, as well as, one of the Top-100 Female Teaching Professionals in the USA. McClure also worked as a teaching professional at The Woodlands Club from 2005-06.
 
McClure was also the head professional at Dunegrass Golf Club, Riverside Golf Course and Nonesuch River Golf Club while also serving as the director of instruction at the Cascade Driving Range. During her time at the Dunegrass Golf Club from 1999-00, the course was recognized as one of the Top Women Friendly Golf Courses in the Country by Golf for Women
 
McClure has been a Class A member of the PGA since 1995 and was also a past board member of the Maine Chapter of the NEPGA (New England Professional Golfers Association).
 
As a collegian, McClure played golf at the University of Hawaii and graduated in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. She also competed on the women’s basketball team at Hawaii.
