Jennifer Vachon

  • Vachon began her career with Navy Athletics in August of 2019 as an Intern Sports Dietitian, after graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition. Earning her Master's degree in Applied Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition from Concordia University Chicago shortly after.
  • Alongside Scott Maher, Jen helped establish Navy’s first sports nutrition department, and was promoted from intern to Assistant Sports Dietitian in June of 2020
  • As an Assistant Sports RD, Vachon provided nutrition support to countless student-athletes from varsity athletic teams across the yard, and has worked closely with a number of teams including women’s lacrosse, track & field, rugby and tennis.
  • In her initial year as the Assistant Sports Dietitian, Vachon pioneered the first ever varsity athlete fueling station program.
  • Vachon has demonstrated outstanding leadership, initiative, and drive in regards to spearheading the fueling station program, which now spans to multiple locations across the yard. 
  • These fueling stations provide nutrition support to hundreds of student-athletes on a daily basis.
  • Vachon has also served as a supportive and encouraging mentor to newer nutrition staff and interns as the department has grown over the past five years.
  • In recognition of her leadership, hard work, and accomplishments, Vachon was elevated to the role of Assistant Director of Sports Nutrition where she will serve our varsity athletic programs in a leadership role, and continue to provide exceptional nutrition support to all student-athletes. 
  • Vachon graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2017. She then completed her dietetic internship at Cape Cod Hospital and Titleist/FootJoy Headquarters. Most recently, Vachon graduated with a Master of Science in Applied Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition from Concordia University Chicago in May of 2020.
  • Vachon is a native of Lakeville, Mass. and currently resides in Annapolis with her dog Bleu.
