Carr joined the coaching staff of Navy Women's Rowing in September of 2024. She came to Annapolis after a strong collegiate career as a rower at Ohio State and most recently as an assistant coach at Penn.
"I'm very excited to be here, and extremely grateful to Coach Schlosberg for bringing me in," remarked Carr. "Joe and Anne [Campbell] have a wealth of knowledge having coached for many years and I'm eager to learn from them. The team is really motivated to push themselves and get better every day; I'm lucky to be able to help them do that."
Carr joins the Navy program after beginning her collegiate coach career last year as a member of the UPenn lightweight rowing staff. A volunteer with the Quakers during the 2023-24 academic year, the team achieved numerous postseason accolades, including capturing the Jope Cup for the team title at the 2024 Eastern Sprints and a silver medal in the team standings at the IRA National Championship. Carr directly assisted in the preparation of Penn's varsity four crew for the national championship and saw her squad finish in third place.
As a collegiate rower, Carr suited up as a member of the Ohio State University team. Her success came in individual boat action, as well as with the team, as the Buckeyes won the 2018 Big 10 Championship with Carr racing with the title-winning second varsity eight crew. At the 2018 NCAA Championship regatta, Ohio State placed sixth in the nation, while Carr and the 2V8 crew came in eighth overall. One year later in 2019, Ohio State finished runner-up at the Big 10 Championship as Carr rowed the Buckeyes' 2V4 to a bronze medal effort.
Internationally, she has competed at three U-19 World Rowing Championships, starting in 2015 as a spare for the 2- crew and continuing onto the 2016 regatta as a member of the 4x crew and finally with the 4- team at the 2017 championship. Carr and her teammates in the 4- boat in 2017 finished third in the world.
She graduated from Ohio State with a Bachelor's of Science in Education and Sports Industry in 2021.
