Gabby Fitzmaurice enters her fifth season as a volunteer assistant coach at Navy in 2019-20.
During her fourth year with the program, Navy finished with a record of 23-9 and reached 20 wins for the eighth time in nine years. Fitzmaurice helped coach Navy to 4-3 win over Army in the 2018-19 Star Match. Navy had two players earn Second-Team All-Patriot League honors.
In 2017-18, Navy won a school-record 27 matches (27-6) and made its sixth appearance in the Patriot League Championship match as the tournament’s top seed. Navy also posted a 7-0 win over Army West Point in the 2017-18 Star Match and two Mids earned all-conference honors.
In 2016-17 Fitzmaurice helped Navy to an 18-12 overall record and the team was 4-2 in Patriot League play. Three Mids received All-Patriot League Second-Team honors following the 2016-17 season.
In Fitzmaurice's first season in 2015-16, Navy posted a 20-10 overall record and was 4-2 in the Patriot League.
Navy defeated rival Army West Point, 4-1, in the Patriot League Semifinals to earn its fifth appearance in the Patriot League Championship match. Amanda Keller (first team) and Claudia Mackenzie (second team) received All-Patriot League honors.
Fitzmaurice, formerly Pasternak, was a standout player at Quinnipiac University from 2004-07 and was the 2005 NEC Women's Tennis Player of the Year. Fitzmaurice was a four-time all-conference first team singles and doubles player and was a two-time team MVP.
Fitzmaurice became the first player in program history to win four straight conference singles championships and she competed in four straight NCAA Tournaments. She is ranked in the top 10 at Quinnipiac in both career singles wins (133) and career doubles wins (73).
Fitzmaurice served as a volunteer assistant coach at Quinnipiac from 2008-11.
Fitzmaurice graduated from Quinnipiac with a bachelor's degree in public relations in 2007 and also earned a master's degree in journalism from Quinnipiac in 2009.
