Matt Lennox enters his fifth season on the Navy women's tennis coaching staff in 2025-26, joining the Midshipmen as a volunteer assistant in the fall of 2021.
 
In his first four seasons at Navy, Lennox has been part of a program that has posted an 82-31 record, including going 16-5 in the Patriot League regular season and earning three-straight No. 2 seeds in the league tournament from 2022 to 2024. Being a guiding force for the program’s first Patriot League Championship in 2024, he has also helped coach eight All-Patriot League honorees, including 2022 PL Rookie of the Year and two-time (2023, 2025) PL Player of the Year Emily Tannenbaum and back-to-back PL Doubles Teams of the Year in 2024 and 2025.
 
Lennox came to Navy after spending the 2020-21 season as an assistant coach for the Goucher men's tennis program. During his lone season on Goucher staff, Lennox assisted in leading the Gophers to a 7-3 dual record and a semifinal berth in the Landmark Conference Tournament.
 
Lennox, a former student-athlete under current Navy women's tennis head coach Keith Puryear at UMBC, was named a two-time All-Northeast Conference first team selection during his time as a Retriever.
 
Lennox was ranked No. 1 in the nation in Men’s 30’s singles and finished as the runner-up in the 2008 National Clay Court Men’s Doubles Championship. He was ranked as the No. 1 Men’s 30’s singles player in the state of Maryland in 2007 and 2008, along with winning the Men’s Open Mid-Atlantic Singles Indoor Championship in 2009.

Lennox also serves as a high performance coach at Montgomery Tennisplex as well as Coppermine Racquet and Fitness club. He also served as the Director of Junior Development for the Tennis Institute.  Additionally, he has been registered as a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) professional and teaching pro since 2006 and has been member of the Global Professional Tennis Coach Association (GPTCA), which is ATP certified, since 2021.
