Alli LaRochelle enters her first season as an assistant coach for Navy triathlon.
LaRochelle is a decorated amateur triathlete. She is an 11-time USA Triathlon All-American and a four-time Ironman All-World-Athlete (AWA) Gold honors recipient (2016, ‘18, ‘22, ‘23). Additionally, she has claimed Ironman AWA Silver distinction three times (2015, ‘17, ‘19). She is also a local triathlon coach for age groupers.
LaRochelle has completed 12 full Ironman events and has earned a spot on the amateur podium twice. Additionally, she is a two-time Ironman World Championship qualifier. She most recently placed second in her age group (40-44) and finished in the top 10 for overall female amateurs at IRONMAN Mont Tremblant in August of 2023. She is currently ranked fifth in the U.S. in the 40 to 44-year-old age group.
LaRochelle has also completed 15 Ironman 70.3 races and finished on the podium in seven. She has qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship four times. She has also raced in the Elite Amateur Division at the NYC Triathlon and Nations Triathlon Olympic Distance races.
LaRochelle graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She swam competitively through high school and started competing in triathlon in 2009.
She is currently the business owner of Benchmark BCL, a social media marketing company that handles social media and reputation management for Sheehy Auto Stores.
LaRochelle also provides one-on-one endurance sports coaching for individuals through her coaching business, Benchmark Endurance Coaching. She works with athletes from beginner level to seasoned veterans, as well as Ironman 70.3 World Championship qualifiers.
LaRochelle is an active member of the community with multiple philanthropic projects. She co-founded the Ella Strong Foundation in 2018 after her niece overcame Stage Four Ewing Sarcoma. The foundation is a 501(c)3 committed to raising money for pediatric cancer research and supporting children with cancer. LaRochelle is also a breast cancer survivor.
In 2022, she was awarded the LT Dan Cnossen Above and Beyond Award by the Navy SEAL Foundation for personally raising over $50,000 through participation in the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim.
Additionally, she is the former Girls on the Run and HERO Boys Run coach at the Naval Academy Primary School.
LaRochelle resides in Annapolis with her husband, Paul, and two sons, Brock and Brady. Paul is a Navy veteran, as well as a trustee with the Naval Academy Athletic Association and a chairman of the National Lexus Dealer Council. The couple is also a past sponsor family with the Naval Academy.
