Josie Andres begins her second season as a member of the Navy coaching staff in the fall of 2023.
The Mids finished the 2022 regular season in third place in the Patriot League standings and advanced to the final of the league tournament.
Andres arrived at Navy after a two-year stint as a member of the coaching staff at Otterbein. The Cardinals compiled an overall record of 43-9 and national (NCAA DIII) rankings of 13th and 15th, respectively, in her two seasons at the school. In addition to being an assistant coach for the Cardinals, she also served as an interim head coach for the team during stretches of the 2020-21 season which ended with Otterbein posting an 18-3 record, placing second in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) regular season and winning the conference tournament. Last season, the Cardinals compiled a 25-6 overall record, again reached the title game of the OAC tournament and advanced to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament.
The native of Sunman, Ind., began her collegiate career at Mount St. Joseph’s where she played during the 2015 and ‘16 seasons. She then transferred to Ohio Northern for the next two years and served as the team captain in 2018. The outside hitter appeared in 55 matches as the Polar Bears posted an overall record of 51-14, shared a pair of OAC regular season titles, won the conference tournament crown as a senior and played in both the 2017 (Sweet 16) and 2018 (first round) NCAA Tournaments.
Andres earned an undergraduate degree in sport management from Ohio Northern in 2019 and an MBA from Otterbein in 2022.
