• Whitaker in 2010-11 (Jr.), 2009-10 (So.): Did not see any varsity action.
• 2008-09 (Fr.): Turned in a 2-3 record among the two tournaments in which he competed ... opened his collegiate career with a third-place showing at the Centrel New Jersey Open ... pinned Nassau Community College[apos]s James Punnulo in his first-collegiate match ... defeated teammate Tyler Sackett by a 10-9 decision in the third-place match ... also competed at the Navy Classic.
• High School: A 2008 graduate of The Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn., Whitaker was a four-year wrestling letterwinner who led his high school to four-consecutive state titles ... a four-time individual state champion, winning titles at 105 (Fr.), 112 (So, Jr.) and 125 (Sr.) pounds ... served as team captain his senior year ... member of the National Honor Society ... served as Student Body President.
• Personal: Son of Philip and Cindy Whitaker ... majoring in Naval Architecture ... has twice appeared on the Commandant[apos]s List ... well respected within Bancroft Hall, he is among the top 13 percent in his class (1,135) in military order of merit.
