Lloyd Rogers is in his ninth year at the Naval Academy and his first as the Director of Operations under Cary Kolat. In addition to his wrestling responsibilities, Rogers is a member of the Physical Education Department at the Naval Academy where he serves as a lead combatives (wrestling and martial arts) instructor). He is also a board member on the Maryland State Wrestling Association.
   Rogers came to Annapolis in the fall of 2013 as a full-time assistant coach on the staff of interim head coach Brian Antonelli. He went on to serve the next seven years as the volunteer assistant coach, six under Joel Sharratt (2015-20) and one under Cary Colat (2021).
   During his tenure, Navy has amassed a 53-26 (.671) record, place as high as second at the EIWA Championship (2021) and as high as 22nd at the NCAA Championship (2016). Five different wrestlers - Mathew Miller (2014), Peyton Walsh (2015), Jadaen Bernstein (2015), Tanner Skidgel (2019, ‘20) and Cody Trybus (2020, ‘21) - have won a combined seven EIWA titles during his time at Navy. Meanwhile, he helped develop 174-pound Mathew Miller into an All-American, as he placed fifth at 184 pounds in 2016.
   Prior to his arrival in Annapolis, Rogers served as an intern with the University of Iowa wrestling program where he was involved in all aspects of the program including sitting on the committee for the Dirty Hawk Mudder, the Hawkeye Wrestling Club fundraiser. Additionally, Rogers served as the Eastern Iowa Wrestling Club coach for the last year and was a member of the Hawkeye Wrestling Club from 2009 to 2013.
   Rogers was a standout wrestler at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he was a two-time NCAA qualifier (174 lbs), a Southern Conference champion and the 2008 Southern Conference Wrestler of the Year.
   As a freestyle wrestler, Rogers claimed the 2009 University National title after placing as the runner-up a year prior. He finished seventh at the 2010 US Open and sixth in 2011. He competed in the World Team Trial in 2009, ‘10 and ‘11 in preparation to compete in the 2012 Olympic Trials.
   Rogers has also leant his leadership and experience to a number of camps over the years, including at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, the University of Iowa, the Workhorse Wrestling Camps and the Wrestle the World Camps to name a few.
   An Academic All-Southern Conference selection and member of the honor roll, Rogers graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice. He received his Master of Science in kinesiology and sport management from the University of Central Missouri in 2012.
   Rogers resides in Stevensville with his wife, the former Katherine Jasper.
