Navy’s starter at 184 pounds in seven duals … Recorded a 20-11 overall record and a 5-2 dual record … Defeated five InterMat nationally-ranked wrestlers with a top victory against No. 16 Neil Antrassian of Virginia by an 8-6 decision … Earned a season-best national ranking of No. 24 by InterMat … Finished in second place at the Bearcat Open (2-1) and fifth at the Clarion Open (3-1) … Also competed in the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational and Franklin & Marshall Open … Earned dual victories against Maryland, Virginia, Kent State, Oklahoma and Army … Defeated Sahm Abdulrazzaq of Army by a 3-2 decision to help Navy win the Star Match, 18-13 … Posted a record of 5-1 to place third at the EIWA Championship to earn an automatic qualifying spot in the NCAA Championship … Compiled a 1-2 record at nationals with an 8-4 decision over No. 22 Dylan Connell of Illinois
2021-22 // Sophomore Year
Navy’s starter at 184 pounds for eight duals, he posted a 16-10 overall record and a 5-3 dual record … Made appearances in the Clarion Open, Bearcat Open, Navy Classic and Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite … Went 4-1 at the Bearcat open to place fifth … Took first place at the Navy Classic after finishing 3-0 in the tournament. Defeated InterMat No. 26 nationally-ranked Layne Malczewski of Michigan State by a 10-4 decision in the title match … Earned dual victories against Hofstra, Ohio, Cleveland State, Clarion and Army … Defeated No. 27 Charles Small of Hofstra by a 3-2 decision … Claimed a win against Brad Laughlin of Army by a 6-4 decision to help the Mids beat Army, 22-9 … Went 1-2 at EIWA Championship, defeating 13th-seeded James Araneo of Brown by a 10-9 decision … Finished season as InterMat’s No. 32 ranked wrestler in weight class.
2020-21 // Freshman Year
Navy wrestled a COVID-shortened season that did not include tournaments outside of the EIWA and NCAA Championships … Navy’s starter at 184 pounds, he recorded an 11-3 overall mark and was undefeated in dual action (5-0) … Earned dual victories over Max Wohlabaugh of Clarion (4-2), JT Davis of Lehigh (5-3), DeAndre Nassar of Cleveland State (5-3 SV), Kyle Davis of George Mason (12-2), and Taylor Brown of Army (5-2) … Earned his first-collegiate victory by way of a 4-2 decision over Clarion’s Max Wohlabaugh in dual action … Earned back-to-back wins over seventh-seeded James Langan of LIU (4-3) and third-seeded Taylor Brown of Army (7-2) to punch his way into the EIWA finals … Dropped an 8-3 decision to top-seeded and All-American Lou DePrez of Binghamton in the championship match … Earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship by way of his EIWA Championship finish. He was one of two freshmen (Andrew Cerniglia, 157) on the team to qualify for the NCAA Championship … Posted a 2-2 record at the NCAA Championship where he pinned 13th-seeded Chris Weiler of Wisconsin (5:48) and defeated 19th-seeded Zach Braunagel of Illinois by way of a 10-3 decision … Named to the Amateur Wrestling News All-Rookie Team at the conclusion of the season.
