Naval Academy Athletics

• Daniels in 2016-17 (Jr.):  Fought through injury to post a 17-10 mark as Navy’s starter at 165 pounds, including a 5-2 record in dual competition ... put together a 3-0 mark, including a 3-2 victory over Army’s Andrew Mendal in the championship bout to claim the title at the All-Academy Championship ... it marked his first career individual crown ... posted a 4-2 record at the EIWA Championship to place fifth ... his opening-round win over Franklin & Marshall’s Rob King marked his first win at the Championship in what marked his third appearance ... knocked off fifth-seeded Austin Rose of Drexel in sudden victory, 2-1, while topping fourth-seeded Jon Viruet by a 3-1 count in sudden victory in the fifth-place match ... also competed at the Harold Nichols Open, Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational and Southern Scuffle.

• 2015-16 (So.):  A starter at 157 pounds as a sophomore, he posted a 13-12 record that included a 7-2 mark in dual action ... competed at five tournaments, including the All-Academy Championship where he placed fourth ... his two dual losses were against 10th-ranked John Boyle of American and Army West Point’s Russell Parsons Jr. ... earned solid dual victories over Maryland’s Lou Mascola, 10-4, Drexel’s Richard Viruet, 3-2, and Princeton’s Francesco Fabozzi, 7-4.

• 2014-15 (Fr.):  Navy’s starter at 157 pounds, Daniels amassed a 12-15 record in his rookie season ... won seven of the first eight matches of his career, including a 13-3 major decision over St. Catharine’s Reed Daniel for his first collegiate victory ... took second place at the season-opening Michigan State Open (Fr./So. Div.), dropping a 6-1 decision to Ohio State’s Micah Jordan in the title bout ... placed third at the All-Academy Championship after dealing Coast Guard’s Chris Sullivan a 7-5 loss.

• High School: A 2013 graduate of Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, Mo., Daniels attended the Naval Academy Prep School during the 2013-14 academic year ... was a four-year wrestling letterwinner who garnered won the stat title at 160 pounds his senior year ... placed second at 160 pounds as a junior and fourth at 145 pounds as a sophomore.

• Personal: Son of Craig Daniels and Nicole Dixon-Daniels ... majoring in Political Science.
