Naval Academy Athletics

2021-22 // Senior Year
• Competed at 174 pounds during his senior campaign.
• Made appearances in the East Stroudsburg Open (unattached), Mat-Town College Open (unattached) and Mat-Town College Open II, finishing with a record of 6-5.
• Placed sixth at the East Stroudsburg Open. 

2020-21 // Junior Year
• Navy wrestled a COVID-shortened season that did not include tournaments outside of the EIWA and NCAA Championships.
• Did not see any varsity action.

2019-20 // Sophomore Year
• Put together a 1-2 record at the Franklin & Marshall Open, defeating Brown’s David Health, 7-1, in the opening round.

2018-19 // Freshman Year
• Made appearances at the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial and the Edinboro Open where he produced a combined 2-2 record.
• Earned his first collegiate win with a major decision over Findlay’s Hunter Reed at the Edinboro Open.

High School
• 2017 graduate of Poway High School in Poway, Calif.
• Three-year wrestling letter winner.
• Placed eighth at state as a junior and fifth at state as a senior.
• Poway HS placed third at the California State Championship in 2017.

Personal
• Son of Michael and Tracy Boyd.
• His service assignment is Surface Warfare (Nuclear).
• Majoring in quantitative economics, he owns a 3.23 grade-point average.
• Has earned Superintendent’s List (S2022), Commandant’s (F2018, F2019, S2020, S2021, F2021, S2022) and Dean’s List (F2020, F2021) accolades.
• Attended the Naval Academy Prep School during the 2017-18 academic year.
