Navy wrestled a COVID-shortened season that did not include tournaments outside of the EIWA and NCAA Championships … Navy’s starter at 197 pounds, he put together a 7-5 record that included a 3-2 mark in dual competition … Earned dual victories against Lehigh’s Jake Jakobsen (6-1), Cleveland State’s Ben Smith (3:57) and George Mason’s Austin Stith (15-0, 7:00) … Place third at the EIWA Championship dropping his lone match in the semifinals to second-seeded JT Brown of Army in a 3-2 tie-breaker … Earned his first NCAA Championship bid by way of his third-place finish at the EIWA Championship … Posted a 0-2 record at the NCAA Championship.
2019-20 // Freshman Year
Navy’s starter at 197 pounds, he produced a 21-9 record, including an 11-3 mark in dual action … One of five wrestlers on the squad to win 20 or more matches … Led the team with 11 dual victories, his three losses were by a combined five points - 4-3 vs. No. 3 Kyle Conel of Penn State, 12-10 vs. Jaron Smith of Maryland, 5-3 vs. Timothy Young of Old Dominion … Earned his first collegiate victory by way of a fall (1:55) against Fresno State’s Ryan Reyes in the Mids’ opener … Made appearances in four tournaments, placing in three of the four … Posted a 4-1 record at the Navy Classic and defeated Michigan State’s Nick May, 18-2, in the third-place bout … Went 3-0 to win the All-Academy Championship where he was also named the Most Outstanding Wrestler … His All-Academy Championship wins included a fall in 1:23 and back-to-back 16-0 tech falls, including his championship bout victory over VMI’s Zach Brown … Turned in a 2-3 record and placed eighth in his first appearance at the EIWA Championship … Named the alternate at 197 pounds for the 2020 NCAA Championship which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
