Naval Academy Athletics

2021-22 // Senior Year
• Navy’s starter at 141 and 149 pounds, he posted a 7-14 overall record and 3-8 dual record.
• Competed in the Clarion Open, Bearcat Open, and Franklin & Marshall Open.
• Earned first collegiate dual victory over Paul Watkins of Lehigh University with a 4-3 decision.
• Earned dual victories over Lehigh, Hofstra, and Clarion.
• Went 1-2 at the EIWA Championship, defeating 12th seeded Ricky Cabanillas of Brown University in a 9-7 sudden victory.

2020-21 // Junior Year
• Navy wrestled a COVID-shortened season that did not include tournaments outside of the EIWA and NCAA Championships.
• Did not see any varsity action.

2019-20 // Sophomore Year
• Competed in a pair of tournaments at 141 pounds - Franklin & Marshall Open, Edinboro Open where he amassed a combined 2-3 record.

2018-19 // Freshman Year
• Made appearances at both the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial and the Edinboro Open where he posted a combined 2-4 record.
• Earned his first collegiate victory by way of a 14-4 major decision over Maryland’s Anthony Sountis at the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial.

High School
• 2018 graduate of Poway High School in Poway, Calif.
• Four-year wrestling letter winner.
• 2018 state qualifier, he helped guide Poway HS to a third-place team finish at the California State Championship in 2017 and ’18.
• Member of the National Honor Society.

Personal
• Son of Richard and Heidi Miranda.
• His service assignment is Naval Officer.
• Majoring in English, he owns a 3.63 grade-point average.
• Has earned Superintendent’s (F2018, S2019, S2021), Commandant’s (F2018, S2019, F2019, S2020, F2020, S2021, F2021, S2022) and Dean’s List (F2019, S2020, F2020, F2021) accolades.
• Brother, Josh, wrestled one season at Grand Canyon.
