• Marvel in 2012-13 (Fr.): Competed in four tournaments where he amassed a 4-8 record ... earned his first collegiate victory in his first career appearance ... defeated Pitt[apos]s Matt Patrick via a 6-1 decision at the Knight Point Open.

• High School: A 2012 graduate of McDonogh High School, Marvel was a two-sport athlete who earned four letters in wrestling and three as a linebacker on the football team ... led McDonogh to the 2012 state championship ... was a two-time national prep All-American who also placed at the Ironman national tournament, as well as at the Beast of the East.

• Personal: Son of Ronald Sr. and Lisa Marvel.
