Biography

2019-20 // Junior Year
• Navy’s starter at 149 pounds for most of the second half of the season, he produced a 14-9 overall record and a 1-4 dual mark
• Competed in four tournaments - East Stroudsburg Open, Navy Classic, Southern Scuffle, All-Academy Championship - and placed in two of the four
• Opened the year by winning four straight matches, including pinning Navy teammate Jonathan Miranda to win the East Stroudsburg Open
• Recorded a 3-1 mark at the All-Academy Championship, including a 15-0 tech fall over Norwich’s Benjamin Forsman in the third-place bout
• Earned his first career dual win by way of an 8-5 decision over Duke’s Wade Unger

2018-19 // Sophomore Year
• Turned in a 9-8 record wrestling at 149 pounds
• Competed in fourth tournaments - Bearcat Open, Navy Classic, Franklin & Marshall Tournament and Edinboro Open
• Made his first dual appearance, dropping a 10-6 decision to Hofstra’s Holden Heller

2017-18 // Freshman Year
• Produced a 7-7 record in his first season at Navy where he saw action at the Ursinus Fall Brawl, Navy Classic, Franklin & Marshall Open and Edinboro Open
• Earned his first collegiate victory by way of forfeit at the Fall Brawl
• Recorded his first victory by result with a pin (0:25) over Ursinus’ Pat Ammirati at the Fall Brawl.

High School
• 2017 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
• Four-year wrestling letter winner
• Earned All-State (Pa.) recognition as a senior and served as team captain his junior and senior years
• Three-time state qualifier and place winner in 2017
• Led Cumberland Valley to fourth place at the state championship in 2014 and second in 2015
• Member of the National Honor Society

• Son of Robert and Pamela Long
• Service assignment is Naval Officer
• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, he owns a 3.00 grade-point average
• Has earned Commandant’s List (S2018, F2018, S2020, F2020) accolades multiple times, while also being named to the Dean’s List (S2018)
• Brother, Connor, is a 2020 graduate of Army where he was a member of the sprint football team
• Brother, William, wrestled two years at Drexel
