• Basich in 2011-12 (Jr.): Competed in four tournament for the Midshipmen en route to posting a 10-4 record ... captured the Knight Point Open crown at 157 pounds with a 5-4 decision over Lehigh's Joey Napoli ... placed third at the Navy Classic thanks to a 6-4 decision over The Citadel's Pierre Frazile ... competed at but did not place at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational and the Southern Scuffle ... won his lone dual match of the season, an 8-3 victory over Franklin & Marshall's Eric Norgard.
2010-11 (So.): Opened the year by winning eight of his first 11 matches ... finished his sophomore campaign with a 9-8 record ... placed among the top eight at the Eastern Michigan Open ... followed up with a third-place showing at the Navy Classic where he defeated teammate Zach Johnson in the third-place match ... dropped a 9-4 decision to Liberty's Peter Crawford in what was his first dual appearance of his career.
• 2009-10 (Fr.): Made appearances in three tournaments in his rookie year where he produced an 8-6 record ... opened his career by taking second place at the Central New Jersey Open, dropping a 14-10 decision in the finals to teammate Bobby Barnhisel ... followed up with a sixth-place showing at the Navy Classic that featured a 12-4 major decision over Bucknell's Scott Sechler ... closed out the year by competing at the Nittany Lion Open where he did not place.
• High School: A 2008 graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School, Basich attended the Naval Academy Prep School during the 2008-09 academic year ... a four-year letterwinner in wrestling, he was a four-time state placewinner ... after finishing fourth and second in his first two years, respectively, he won the 2007 and `08 West Virginia State Championship ... in 2008, he was the NHSCA National Open Champion.
• Personal: Son of Mark and Denise Basich ... majoring in General Engineering ... uncle, Doug Wojcik, is a 1987 graduate of the Naval Academy ... Wojcik was a three-year letterwinner for Navy's basketball program, leading the Mids to the NCAA Tournament in three straight seasons, including a 1986 East Regional Final appearance ... Navy's starting point guard, the Mids owned an 82-17 record during his three seasons ... he is currently in his first season as head coach of the College of Charleston men's basketball program ... Wojcik's wife, Lael, is a 1990 graduate of the Naval Academy and was a standout basketball player and track athlete for the Mids ... uncle, Dave Wojcik, was an assistant men's basketball coach at Navy during the 2003-04 season and is now an assistant coach at Boise State ... his service assignment is Marine Corps Ground.
