Biography

• Johnson in 2011-12 (Jr.): Competed at the Knight Point Open and the Navy Classic where he posted a combined 7-4 record ... placed fourth at the Navy Classic where he turned in a 4-2 record ... lost to teammate and 2013 NCAA qualifier Raymond Borja in the third-place bout.

• 2011-12 (So.): Produced a 2-2 record at the Navy Classic in what was his only tournament appearance of the year.

• 2010-11 (Fr.): Competed in a pair of tournaments for the Mids where he put together a combined 3-3 record ... opened his collegiate career with a fourth-place finish at the Navy Classic which featured his first collegiate victory, a 19-2 technical fall against Franklin & Marshall[apos]s Chris Barksdale ... also wrestled at the Nittany Lion Open.

• High School: A 2010 graduate of Christian Brothers High School, Johnson was a four-year letterwinner in wrestling and also was a member of the football and track & field teams ... high school team claimed four-consecutive region championships (2007-08-09-10) ... a three-time state placewinner, he won the state championship as a senior at 140 pounds ... finished as the state runner-up at 140 pounds as a junior and placed third at 130 pounds in his sophomore year ... served as team captain of the wrestling team his senior year ... member of the National and Spanish Honor Societies.

• Personal: Son of Danny and Susan Johnson ... cousin, Terry Garbazinski, is a 1985 graduate of the Naval Academy ... twin brother, Alex, is also a senior at the Naval Academy and is a member of the wrestling team ... owns a 3.46 GPA in Ocean Engineering ... has been a member of the Commandant[apos]s List in all six semesters at the Academy and was named to the Dean[apos]s List the spring of his sophomore year ... has been named to the Superintendent[apos]s List three times ... ranked among the top 17 percent of his class (1,098) in overall order of merit and the top 15 percent in military order of merit.
