Responsibilities: Football
Helen Bulford, MS, LAT, ATC, is responsible for the athletic training for Navy's football team. She joined the NAAA Sports Medicine staff in May of 2024.
She came to Annapolis following three years of service at Colby College from August 2021 through April 2024. At Colby, she provided athletic training, injury evaluation, rehabilitation and emergency sideline care for the school's football, women's basketball, softball and men's and women's alpine ski programs.
Originally from Akron, Ohio and a graduate from The Ohio State University in 2017, Bulford's first assignment was as a graduate assistant at Boston University from August 2017 to May 2019, where she provided service for the Terriers men's club rugby and softball teams. After attaining her master's degree in human physiology from BU in 2019, she returned to Columbus as an athletic training intern at OSU for two years. Bulford was primarily responsible for the care of the Buckeye's field hockey team, while assisting with men's lacrosse, football and women's tennis.
She's in the process of receiving her doctorate in athletic training from A.T. Still University.
Bulford is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and is a board certified athletic trainer, as well a National Provider Identifier.
