Johnny Inman

Inman joined the Navy heavyweight rowing program as an assistant coach in January of 2026.

A Massachusetts native, Inman comes to Annapolis following a recent stint at Princeton University. Joining the Tigers’ program in the fall of 2024, Inman was an assistant coach and interim boathouse administrator. In his first season coaching at Princeton, he led the walk-on program and coached the 5V8+ to a bronze medal at the Eastern Sprints and later the V4+ to an eighth-place result at the IRA National Championships. As a program, Princeton finished second at the Eastern Sprints in the Rowe Cup competition and fifth at the 2025 IRA National Championships in the Ten Eyck Standings.

Prior to Princeton, Inman coached at Community Rowing Inc. (CRI) in Boston and assisted with the U-17 and U-23 squads, as well as the varsity boys, varsity girls and boys development teams. In addition to his work at CRI, he coached collegiately as an assistant with Northeastern’s women’s team in 2023-24 and with Boston College’s men’s club team in 2023. While at Northeastern, Inman aided the Huskies’ 3V8+ and 4V8+ teams to bronze medal-winning performances at the 2024 Eastern Sprints.

As a collegiate athlete, Inman was a coxswain with the club rowing team at Boston College. He graduated from Boston College in 2021 with a finance degree. Additionally, he received an advanced certificate from the Institute for Rowing Leadership at CRI in 2024.
