Responsibilities: Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field
Kayla Ruszin, MLA, ATC, is responsible for the athletic training for Navy's men's and women's cross country and track & field programs. She joined the NAAA Sports Medicine staff in August of 2024.
Ruszin came to the Naval Academy after graduating with a master's from Texas Christian University in May of 2024. While getting her master's degree in Fort Worth, she served as GA athletic trainer with the Horned Frogs' women's equestrian program, as well as provided assistance with summer football training and the TCU youth athletic camps.
Prior to heading to Texas, she began athletic training journey as a AT student at Towson University and garnered experience working at Loyola Blakefield High School, Mid-Atlantic Sports Therapy and Rehab, Loyola University with the Greyhounds' women's lacrosse and men's soccer teams, at Towson with the Tigers' women's soccer and football programs and Notre Dame Prep School.
Ruszin is a licensed and board certified athletic trainer and has additional certifications in HVLAT: Spine and myofascial decompression for enhanced function and performance.
A native of Pasadena, Maryland, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Towson University in 2022 and completed her Master of Liberal Arts from TCU in 2024.
