Terrill joined the Navy men's gymnastics program in August of 2024 as an assistant coach. Terrill came to Annapolis after a strong collegiate career competing with the University of Oklahoma's club team and most recently a decorated youth coaching stint at Centre Elite Gymnastics in State College, Pennsylvania.
A native of San Angelo, Texas, Terrill began his studies at the University of Oklahoma, where he aimed to walk onto the NCAA squad. After getting cut, he continued his quest to compete collegiately as he linked up with the Sooners' club team. Early in his career on the club circuit, Terrill was faced with an unexpected battle cancer his freshman year. Following a nearly year-long fight he was declared cancer-free and shortly began competing again in high-level club gymnastics. Terrill and the OU club team prospered at the national level as they won the National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs (NAIGC) team championship in back-to-back years in 2015 and 2016. As a senior in 2016, Terrill served as the team's captain and won the NAIGC All-Around Championship, in addition to helping the squad earn the team title.
Since graduating from Oklahoma in 2016, Terrill coached the boys' team at Victory Gymnastics in Norman, Oklahoma before moving across the country taking a position with Centre Elite Gymnastics in State College, Pennsylvania in 2017. As the head coach for the program's boys' team, he guided his pupils to high-level success with consecutive Pennsylvania Level 10 Team State Championship in 2023 and 2024, as well as to the 2023 Region 7 Level 10 Team Championship. Individually, Terrill coached three national champions, two on the parallel bars and one on the high bar and had seven United States Championship qualifiers.
Terrill earned bachelor's degree in health and exercise science from the University of Oklahoma in December of 2016.
