Joined Naval Academy Athletic Association: Summer 2016

Tim Ford joined the NAAA in 2016 and was promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director in 2018. As a member of the NAAA’s Executive Athletic Council, he is responsible for leading all Physical Mission fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives in support of Navy Athletics. He also directs season ticket sales for The Clubs at Akerson Tower and oversees Akerson Tower at home football games. Additionally, he is the Sport Administrator for the Men’s Lacrosse program and serves as liaison to the Naval Academy Foundation’s Athletic & Scholarship Program (A&SP) Trustees.

Under his leadership, The Fund for Athletic Excellence, which annually supports all 36 Navy Varsity Sports, has increased by 78% over the last five years and the Naval Academy’s Called to Serve, Daring to Lead campaign raised $111 million in support of Navy Athletics, exceeding the goal by 98%. The Campaign’s Physical Mission Capital Projects included the Terwilliger Center for Student-Athletes, Naval Academy Golf Course Restoration, the Prager Family Squash Facility, new lights and video board at Max Bishop Stadium, support toward Phase IV renovations at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, and enhancements to Halsey Field House.

Prior to joining NAAA, Tim was a Senior Associate AD at the University of Delaware and served on the Athletic Director's Senior Staff. He led Development, Alumni Relations, and Special Events while serving as Program Administrator for Men’s Lacrosse, Men’s Golf, and Women’s Soccer. He led successful fundraising campaigns for the Hannah Stadium and Grant Stadium renovations.
 
Additionally, he was a Senior Associate AD at Yale University where he oversaw Development and External Affairs and led fundraising resulting in $109 million raised for Athletics. He also served on the Athletic Director’s Senior Staff and was Program Administrator for Football, Men’s Lacrosse, Men’s & Women’s Soccer, and Men’s & Women’s Squash. Prior to Yale, he worked at Stanford University as an Athletic Administration Intern.
 
He is a former member of the ECAC Board of Directors and NCAA Division I Football Issues Committee. He graduated from Siena College where he played Rugby and served as the Clubs Vice President. He received his Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Springfield College.
