Navy Wrestling To Hold Annual Blue-Gold Match

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy wrestling team will hold its annual Blue-Gold intrasquad match Friday night at 7 p.m. in Halsey Field House.

"I am looking forward to seeing the guys compete," Navy head coach Bruce Burnett said. "They have been practicing hard and there were a couple of surprises in the challenge matches. We are trying to set our lineup for our upcoming trip to California. This will be an opportunity for the wrestlers to showcase their skills in front of the Brigade Club and our other support groups."

There will be one match in each of the ten weight classes, starting at 125 pounds and going up to the heavyweight division. Spectators are welcome and admission is free.

InterMat released its Division I preseason rankings and Navy team captain Mark Conley (Sr./Exton, Pa.) is ranked fourth in the 141-pound weight class. Conley wrestled his way to a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championship last season and earned All-America honors.

Navy opens its regular season Nov. 4 when the Mids travel to the Central New Jersey Tournament in Ewing, N.J.
