Davidson, Navy Remain Ranked Among NCAA Leaders

Navy's Courtney Davidson continues to be statistically ranked among the top women's basketball players in the nation. In NCAA rankings released Tuesday, Davidson (So., New Oxford, Pa.) moved into second place in the nation in three-point field goal percentage, as well as third place in the country for free throw percentage.

Davidson has converted 51.3 percent of her three-point field goals this season (40-of-78), and trails only Kerri Nakamoto of San Diego (53.3 percent, 40-of-75) in the national statistics. She also has made 92 percent (81-of-88) of her free throws during the 2001-02 campaign to rank third behind Missouri's Kerensa Barr of Missouri (93.6 percent, 73-of-78) and Valerie King of Cincinnati (92.9 percent, 65-of-70). Davidson is tied with Sue Bird of Connecticut (46-of-50).

In addition, Davidson's Patriot League-leading scoring average of 19.8 points per game is ranked 27th in the country, and she is 19th in the nation with an average of 2.86 three point field goals made per game.

As a team, Navy is ranked first in the Patriot League and fifth in the nation with a free throw percentage of 76.7 percent, as well as 39th nationally with a three-point field goal percentage of 40.7 percent.

Navy will play host to Lehigh Wednesday night at 5:15 p.m. in Alumni Hall.
