Navy, Davidson Ranked Among NCAA Leaders

The Navy women's basketball team is ranked among the NCAA statistical leaders in a pair of categories, while sophomore guard Courtney Davidson is ranked among the national leaders in four statistics.

Through games of January 7, the Navy team is ranked sixth nationally with a free throw percentage of 76.7 percent, as well as 37th with a three-point percentage of 37.8 percent.

The statistics were tabulated prior to Navy's Tuesday night overtime loss at Holy Cross. Including statistics from the game, Navy's free throw percentage fell to 75.9 percent, but its three-point shooting improved to 38.5 percent.

Individually, Davidson is ranked fifth in the nation in three-point field goal percentage (50 percent), seventh in free throw percentage (91.1 percent), 16th in three-point field goals made per game (2.9), and 18th in scoring (20.4 points per game).

Including stats from Tuesday's game at Holy Cross where she recorded her first career double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds, Davidson is now shooting 51.3 percent from behind the three-point line, 91.7 percent from the foul line, is making three three-point field goals a game, and is scoring 20.6 points per game. She has scored over 20 points in each of the last five games, while shooting 52 percent from the field, 54 percent from behind the three-point arc, 91 percent from the foul line and sinking four three-point field goals a game during that span.

Navy will open the home portion of its Patriot League schedule Saturday when the Midshipmen play host to Bucknell in a 12:30 p.m. contest at Alumni Hall.
