Delaney Places Seventh in Pole Vault at Penn Relays

Tom Delaney's seventh-place showing in the pole vault highlighted Navy's final day of competition at the Penn Relays, Saturday at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

Delaney, Navy's outdoor team captain who was competing in his hometown, cleared a height of 16'5" to finish in seventh place in his event.

In addition to Delany, three other Midshipmen competed in field event finals on Saturday. Daniel Chapman (Sr., Glen Rose, Texas) placed 14th in the triple jump with a leap of 45'10.5"; Jake Cahalan (Jr., West Warwick, N.J.) placed 12th in the hammer throw with a toss of 174'11"; and Kyle Obrock (Fr., Boalsburg, Pa.) placed 15th in the javelin with a throw of 185'11".

On the track Saturday, Navy's 4x800 relay team of Ray Driscoll (Jr., Avenal, N.J.), Josh McCann (Fr., Magnolia, Texas), Steven Hickman (So., Bozeman, Mont.) and Aaron Dausman (Fr., Maulius, N.Y.) placed 12th with a time of 7:42.26.
