ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy track and field teams will open the home portion of the outdoor season when it plays host to the Navy Outdoor Invitational at Ingram Field in Annapolis on Saturday. The Midshipmen will also send five distance runners to compete in the Raleigh Relays at the Paul Derr Track & Field Facility in Raleigh, N.C., from Thursday through Saturday.

Saturday's home meet begins with field events at 10 a.m. with the running events starting at 1 p.m.

The Raleigh Relays begin daily with the field events at 9:30 a.m., followed by the track events at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, 11:45 a.m. Friday and noon Saturday. Free live results from the meet will be available on NavySports.com. Â A video stream of it will air on ACCNX at 4 p.m. Thursday, 7 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday.

The Midshipmen dominated last year's Navy Outdoor Invitational as they won 23 event titles and recorded 15 first and second-place finishes.

Among the highlights from a year ago was the 4x100-meter relay team of

Tyler Yurich winning in a time of 40.19, which ranked fifth in program history at the time.

Also,
Jordynn Hutchinson led the way in the field events as she won the shot put (14.06 meters / 46-1.5), discus (43.90 meters / 144-0) and hammer throw (50.55 meters / 165-10).

Jackson Nguyen to Raleigh and the North Carolina State campus. This is the third year in a row in which the Mids will compete in the meet.

Last year's efforts were highlighted by Nguyen posting the fifth-fastest 10,000-meter time in program history at 29:06.68. Mumford previously recorded a 13:59.29 in the 5,000 meters at the 2024 Raleigh Relays. That effort ranked eighth in school history at the time.

Patriot League Athletes of the Week
Navy standouts
Caroline Rey,
Zoie Tesi,
Julia Norris and
Jordan Wolverton earned Patriot League weekly honors following last week's Virginia Opener. Rey was named the women's track athlete of the week, Tesi earned the women's field athlete-of-the-week honor and Norris and Wolverton were named the rookies of the week.

Rey led off the 4x100-meter relay team that won in a time of 46.03, which was the fourth-fastest time in school history. She also placed third in the 100-meter dash (11.99) and fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (14.36).

Tesi won the high jump for the second-consecutive meet with a clearance of 1.76 meters (5-9.25). That mark ranks second in program history.

Norris placed fifth in both the shot put (13.95 meters / 45-9.25) and discus (44.67 meters / 146-7) events and also finished ninth in the hammer throw (47.06 meters / 154-5).

Wolverton competed in four events at the meet. He won the high jump with a clearance of 2.01 meters (6-7), helped the 4x400-meter relay team to a second-place finish (3:15.64), placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (54.85) and finished in seventh place in the 110-meter hurdles (14.81).
