Brian Schloeder travels across the country to compete at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Wednesday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. The sophomore will compete at 8:35 p.m. ET (5:35 p.m. PT).

How Schloeder Qualified
Schloeder delivered a historic performance at the NCAA East First Round in Lexington, Ky., on May 27. He punched his ticket to nationals by setting a school record of 5.45 meters (17-10.5) to place third in the event and be seeded 17
th in this week's field of 24.
Navy Pole Vaulters at the NCAA Championships
Schloeder is Navy's first pole vaulter to qualify for the national meet since Frank Kelley 81 years ago. In 1945, Kelley finished in a three-way tie for fifth place after clearing a height of 3.51 meters (11-6), helping Navy win its only track & field national championship.
No Navy pole vaulter has earned All-America honors in program history.
2026 NCAA Track and Field All-America Criteria
- First-Team All-America: Top-eight finishers in each event, including relays.
- Second-Team All-America: Places ninth through 16th in individual events and relays.
- Honorable Mention: Places 17th through 24th in individual events and relays.
Season Highlights
Schloeder dominated the outdoor season, winning his premier event in six of the eight meets in which he competed. The Rockford, Minn., native captured his first Patriot League Outdoor title with a winning height of 5.33 meters (17-5.75).
He also played a crucial role in a narrow 103-100 victory over Army. Schloeder recorded a top mark of 5.11 meters (16-9.25) at the Army-Navy Outdoor Star Meet to notch his second-consecutive win in the rivalry event.
