Annapolis, Md. -- Navy rifle (3-0) defeated Akron, 6157-6065, today at the Bancroft Rifle Range. Freshman Chris Schneider led the way for the Mids, notching the top score in both smallbore ( 1157) and air rifle (393).
Senior Marta Jung turned in the second-highest marks of the day with an 1154 in smallbore and a 391 in air rifle. Junior Mike Miller added an 1152 in smallbore and a 381 in air rifle, while freshman Sarah Bergman posted a 386 in air rifle and junior Kevin Wilson scored an 1143 in smallbore.
?Over the course of the weekend, Chris Schneider was a real performer,? noted head coach Bill Kelley. ?He was high in air rifle today and he had another solid performance in smallbore. He did very well, especially as a plebe in his first collegiate matches.?
Navy will travel to Cambridge, Mass., on Saturday to face off against MIT, Wentworth and Mass Maritime.
