Navy Rifle Closes Out Dual Season Against Army

Team captain Marta Jung will compete in her final collegiate dual on Saturday,

Annapolis, Md. -- Navy rifle (10-1), fresh off a record-setting performance at the NCAA Qualifier last weekend will play host to Army on Saturday in the final dual match of the 2003-04 season at 8 a.m. in the Bancroft Rifle Range. The Mids shot a 6220 last week, the second-best NCAA qualifying score in the country behind Alaska, while Army finished with the No. 6 score in the nation (6171).

?These are two very good teams,? noted head coach Bill Kelley. ?Army's team is much better than they have been in recent years and our team is continuing to work really hard. It's exciting because it's Army-Navy, but both teams will also be using it to prepare for the NCAA Championships.?

The Star Meet follows the same scoring as the President's Trophy, where each team is allowed eight shooters in each discipline and the top-five scores count for each gun.

Army currently leads the all-time series, 34-26, but Navy has won the last nine meetings between the two academies.
