BOSTON, Mass. - The Navy lightweight crew team saw its varsity eight boat place fourth at the Head of the Charles Regatta, Sunday in Boston.
Navy's eight-man boat recorded a time of 15:38.719 over the 2.5-mile course to place fourth in the field of 22 boats. In addition to placing fourth overall, the Mids placed second among the 14 U.S. college crews. The Riverside Boat Club won the race with a time of 15:22.189, with the New York Athletic Club placing second in a time of 15:25.766. Yale narrowly edged Navy for third place with a time of 15:37.192.
In the lightweight four race, the Mids recorded a time of 18:03.245 to place fifth overall and third among U.S. college boats.
The Navy lightweight crew team will be in action Saturday at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia and Sunday in the Princeton Chase in Princeton, N.J.
