Senior captain Abi Campbell tied her career high for points in a Patriot League game with 16 Friday night.

Worcester, Mass. - Lisa Andrews scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Holy Cross to a 71-57 win over Navy Friday at the Hart Center.

Sarah Placek netted 12 points and Shannon Bush chipped in 11 for the Crusaders (13-8 overall, 8-0 Patriot League), who remained unbeaten in the league this season.

Senior captain Abi Campbell (Richmond, Va.) scored a game-high 16 points and collected four steals to pace Navy (7-14, 3-5), which lost for the sixth time in its last seven contests. Campbell's 16 points tied her career high for points in a league game and her four three pointers equaled her career-best mark in any game.

The Midshipmen also received 14 points from senior forward Nikki Curtis (Jacksonville, Fla.) and 11 from junior guard Lauren Skrel (Walnut Creek, Calif.).

Holy Cross jumped out to an 8-2 lead three minutes into the contest on the strength of a jumper and a pair of free throws from Andrews.

The Crusaders continued to build on their lead and led by as many as 22 at 31-9 with 4:11 to go in the first half.

Holy Cross took a 34-15 lead into the locker room at halftime, as the 15 points for Navy were a season low for points in a half. The Mids shot just 21 percent (6-of-29) from the field in the first 20 minutes.

"We really came out sluggish on both ends of the floor," Navy head coach Tom Marryott said. "Holy Cross tore us up with their offense and we struggled to move the ball. We had too many turnovers and that left us with a large deficit."

The Midshipmen came out in the second half and got hot shooting the ball, but the deficit was too much to overcome. Navy shot 56 percent (15-of-27) from the field in the second half and scored 42 points, which were a season high for points in a half. Campbell scored 11 in the second half, while Curtis netted 10 of hers during that span.

"I was proud of our effort in the second half," Marryott said. "It's not easy to play hard when you face a deficit as big as we faced tonight."

Navy will be back in action Sunday, as it faces Army in Christl Arena at 1 p.m.
