ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy women's basketball team will begin its 2006-07 season Friday night with a scrimmage open to all fans. The event, which starts at 8:30 p.m. with team introductions and runs until 10 p.m., will be held in Halsey Field House.

"Everyone associated with our program is anxious to finally start the season," said Navy head coach Tom Marryott. "We have had a lot of fun in the past with this open scrimmage, so we are looking forward to again starting the year with it."

All fans in attendance will have the opportunity to win prizes Friday night, including a pair of Navy basketball season tickets. Those fans interested in attending are asked to enter the Naval Academy grounds through gate one, and everyone must present photo identification at enter.
