• A stadium-record 36,918 fans watched Rutgers and Navy battle this afternoon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium ... the previous record was set on Oct. 11, 1997, when 36,172 fans watched Air Force squeak past the Mids, 10-7.
• The last time the Midshipmen were shut out was Nov. 16, 2002, when Connecticut handed the Mids a 38-0 loss.
• The 34-point margin is the largest margin of victory by a Navy opponent since Connecticut defeated the Mids' 38-0 in 2002.
• Navy is now 36-20 in Homecoming games, snapping a two-game winning streak ... the Mids' last loss on Homecoming was in 2003, a 21-17 loss to Delaware ... the 34-point margin ties as the worst loss on Homecoming since Boston College defeated Navy, 49-15, in 1968.
• Today's loss is just the fourth by the Mids at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in the last four years ... the Mids are 16-4 over that period ... they have won 14 of their last 17 contests.
• Navy amassed just 161 yards of total offense ... its the fewest total yardage by the Midshipmen since Connecticut held them to 82 yards on Nov. 18, 2002.
• The Mids' 113 yards on the ground is their worst ground gain since their 111 yards rushing in a losing 17-10 effort against Rice on Oct. 12, 2002.
• Navy entered the game having been sacked seven times this season ... Rutgers sacked the Midshipmen seven times this afternoon.
• Navy punted the ball 20 times going into today's contest and today were forced to punt 11 times.
• Navy senior quarterback Brian Hampton (Scott Air Force Base, Ill.) suffered a knee injury with 5:41 remaining in the opening quarter.
• Navy was 6 for 7 on fourth down conversions heading into the contest ... the Mids were 1 for 3 today.
• Senior Jeremy McGown (Houston, Texas) came up with his second-career interception and the second of `06 with 3:08 left in the third quarter.
• Navy's longest rush of the afternoon was a 20-yard scamper by Rob Caldwell (St. John, Ind.) on a fake punt with 10:52 remaining in the game ... it was his first-collegiate rush.
• The Mids managed just nine first downs in the contest, the fewest since Connecticut held Navy to three in 2002.
• Sophomore QB Jarod Bryant (Hoover, Ala.) completed two of his 10 passes on the afternoon, the first two completions of his career ... his 22-yard completion to Zerbin Singleton (Decatur, Ga.) was the longest play of the day for the Mids.
• Sophomore slot back Shun White (Memphis, Tenn.) returned his first-collegiate kickoff for 16 yards.
• Tiquan Underwood's two touchdown receptions marked the first time the Mids have given up a pair of touchdowns to one player since last year's Poinsettia Bowl when Dustin Osborn (Colorado State) came up with a pair.
• Rutgers blocked two Navy punts on the afternoon ... the last time Navy had a punt blocked was on Sept. 25, 2004, when Vandy's Norva McKenzie recorded a block.
